Food Safe Production

3D-printing Food contact parts is business as usual to us.
But not everyone knows that certified parts can be delivered quickly, and offer so much design freedom and don’t have to be expensive!”

The food industry is one of the largest and most dynamic sectors in the world. From production, processing, packaging, to the distribution of food products: the sector has a significant impact on our daily lives.

And the food industry is evolving: producing faster, safer, and more efficiently. But how does a machine builder cope with the wide variety of products, complex parts, and processes?

With 3D printing, you can produce complex parts quickly and flexibly according to current industry guidelines. And we know how.

Certification

Certification and standards play a significant role in the food industry. Naturally, you want to comply with your legal obligations – but most importantly, you want to prevent delivering products that could cause contamination.

Therefore, it is important to work according to the following standards.

  • FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
  • EC1935/2004- EU10/2011 PIM (Plastic Information Measure)
  • EC2023/2006 GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
  • Declaration of conformity

Food-safe materials

As experts, we can offer various food contact-safe materials:

PA12 (PA2200) White
PA12 (PA2200) Food Blue
PA12 Blue MD (Metal Detectable)

Please note that food contact parts are also vapor-polished to seal the surface. This prevents any microorganisms or bacteria from inhabiting the surface, making cleaning-in-place more efficient.

3D printing in stainless steel (RVS) is also possible.

Hygienic design?
We’ve got you covered!

Food safety isn’t just about materials.
That’s why we think along with your team to make the food-safe designs smarter. This allows you to use your machines even more efficiently.
Whether it’s grippers, extruders, or nozzles, we know our stuff.

And it doesn’t stop at advice. We’re happy to make your team excel in hygienic design.

Food-safe, with the same promise

When it comes to delivering many parts on time according to industry guidelines. Or by quickly responding when sh*t hits the fan. We’re there. For you.
In making your products smarter, more efficient, and better.

Do you have any burning questions?

It may be true that 3D printing hasn’t been used as long for production as turning, milling or injection molding. As an engineer, maybe you don’t really have that ‘feel’ with printed parts yet. And you are not confident about how 3D printed products hold up in your machines. We fully understand that! And we will help ease your mind.

So: do you have a food contact application in mind? Use a 3D printed part and taste the pudding? See if it will hold up? Then contact Neil for a free sample. On the house!
