What happens in a manufacturability check?

A manufacturability check (DfAM check) is a free review by our engineers. They walk your CAD file for printability. Wall thickness, stress concentrations, closed cavities, orientation effects, material choice. Within one working day you get concrete recommendations, often with visual markers on the model. Often that yields 15-30% savings and/or performance optimisations.

What we check

Wall thickness per zone – Minimum 1 mm (1.5-2 mm under load, 2 mm on fibre-reinforced). We mark under-spec zones.

Internal corners – R >=0.5 mm to avoid stress concentrations.

Solid volumes – Anything above ~5-10 cm³ we analyse for shell opportunities.

Closed cavities – Check for at least one outflow opening of 5 mm so powder can escape.

Orientation – Which orientation is optimal for your critical dimensions, strength and surface quality?

Material choice – Does the chosen material fit the load case? We often suggest a different choice with better cost or strength result.

What you receive as output

Concrete list per zone: (a) what we see, (b) why it needs attention, (c) how you can adjust.

On larger or more complex parts: visual annotation on the CAD model. Heatmap-style markers for thin walls, circles around sharp corners.

For recurring designs (multiple brackets for the same application): extended DfAM consult with pattern analysis and recommendations for your design team.
