What are the advantages of SLS for industrial applications?

Four advantages. No tooling, lead time from 3 working days. Full design freedom (complex geometry, internal channels, integrated assemblies). Isotropic, predictable mechanical properties. Broad material range (PA12, PA11, PA 950 HD, PA12 Blue MD, Carbon LW, PA802CF, TPU). Production up to 100,000+ pieces per year is feasible.

No tooling, faster into production

Injection moulding or deep drawing requires an investment per geometry. Mould (€10,000-50,000+), qualification, material tests, sample runs. Reckon on 6-12 weeks before the first part is in stock.

With SLS your STEP goes straight into the printer. First 100 parts (or one piece) arrive in 3-5 working days. Need a design change during production? Print a new version, no tool rework, no NRE write-off.

Geometry without compromise

Classic designs are stuck with draft restrictions, tool reach and demoulding angles. SLS removes those. Topology-optimised structures come 40-60% lighter. Internal cooling channels that CNC cannot machine. Multi-component assemblies as a single print.

We see customers regularly save 30-50% on assembly time through integration. Ask for a DfAM check if you want to see what savings sit in your current portfolio.

Material range and batch traceability

Seven polymers cover most industrial cases: standard PA12, tough PA11, food-safe PA12 Blue MD, stiff Carbon LW, extra strong PA802CF, flexible TPU 1301, cost-optimised PA 950 HD.

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis: material lot, process parameters, sample checks. For regulated dossiers (FDA, EC1935/2004) we ship the full documentation pack. Your quality team can trace it, your auditor can validate it.
